In connection to the significant rise in the pandemic spread of the COVID-19 virus within several regions in Indonesia, several areas within Indonesia have submitted the Large-Scale Social Restrictions (PSBB - Pembatasan Sosial Berskala Besar ) proposal to the Minister of Health, Dr.Terawan Agus Putranto. Hence, with various aspects of regional, social and economic readiness being considered, the Minister of Health issued a decision No.HK.01.07/MENKES/248/2020 concerning the Establishment of the Large-Scale Social Restrictions for the Greater Jakarta Area and decision from the Health Ministry No. HK.01.07/MENKES/250/2020 as the Establishment of the Large-Scale Social Restrictions for the region of Pekanbaru, Riau.
PSBB for the region of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi began to take effect on the 11th of April 2020. For the scope and procedure of PSBB, it is carried out by PERMENKES 9 Year 2020 concerning the PSBB guidelines in the context of the accelerated handling of the COVID-19 virus. The government of the Greater Jakarta region hopes that the community is able to work together in order to adhere to the PSBB regulations that are in effect constantly.
As for the Pekanbaru, Riau region, PSBB began on the 12th of April 2020 by the Ministry of Health decision. It is based on the rise in the spread of COVID-19 that is quite significant for the Pekanbaru, Riau region. Furthermore, the government of the area of Pekanbaru is required to carry out PSBB consistently while pushing and socializing a clean and healthy living pattern to the community. PSBB will be carried out as long as the incubation period and is open to an extension if there is still proof of spread.
