By Land: You can also reach Sentani by intercity bus from major cities in Papua. From Sentani, you can use a taxi, public transport, or private vehicle to get to the mosque.

History
The Al Aqsha Grand Mosque has been under construction since May 2015 and was officially opened in May 2024. The construction was supported by the Regent of Jayapura and various other parties. The mosque serves not only as a place of worship but also as a community center that builds congregation and fosters da'wah activities. It has also become the final destination for interfaith peace processions.

Architecture and Facilities
The Al Aqsha Grand Mosque features modern architecture with a 35-meter-high minaret. The mosque covers an area of approximately 30×45 meters, including the building, and can accommodate up to 2,300 worshipers.

Facilities provided include a prayer hall, classrooms, meeting rooms, and a beautiful garden.

The Al Aqsha Grand Mosque organizes various religious activities such as congregational prayers, study sessions, and social activities. The mosque also hosts various religious and community events that strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among Muslims.
