Gedongsongo Festival

The Festival Gedongsongo serves as an event to promote the tourism potential, culture, traditional cuisine, and creative economy of Semarang Regency. This event features artistic performances from local groups in Semarang, entertainment shows, a lantern festival, and the ""Resik-Resik"" ritual at Gedongsongo Temple, which is an expression of gratitude to God Almighty for the blessings received by the people of Semarang, as well as a prayer for protection from disasters and hopes for better livelihoods and work.

The Festival Gedongsongo begins with the "Reresik" ritual at Gedongsongo Temple, carried out at Temple One by the local customary leaders. This ritual symbolizes the sacred intention to preserve culture and ensure the well-being of Semarang Regency. It is followed by the Lantern Festival and entertainment performances.
