Festival Tidore

Festival Tidore is a cultural celebration rooted in the legacy of the Tidore Sultanate; one of Maluku’s great kingdoms with a strong history of spice trade and diplomatic ties with Spain and Portugal. Held every April, the festival showcases sacred rituals, traditional ceremonies, the iconic Juanga parade, maritime heritage performances, and the official Tidore Anniversary Ceremony. With a theme focused on preserving local wisdom and strengthening maritime identity, Festival Tidore invites visitors to experience authentic royal traditions, rich cultural heritage, and the living history of Indonesia’s legendary spice islands.
