Youth Pledge Museum holds the threads of an unforgettable history for the Indonesian nation, when youths from various regions realized and sparked the spirit of unity rooted in the Youth Pledge. With new learning installations, every corner of the Youth Pledge Museum building provides a valuable experience and lessons about the events that changed the fate of Indonesia.
The museum also housed the violin, owned by WR Supratman, the composer of Indonesia’s National Anthem titled, Indonesia Raya, that was first sung on October 28, 1928. Furthermore, this museum also served as a dormitory for youths from various regions studying in Batavia, where they gathered, exchanged ideas, and engaged in various youth activities. From printed media, to original photo collections of the youth movement of the early 20th century youth movement, the Youth Pledge Museum bears witness to the spirit of struggle and unity of the Indonesian nation.
