The city of Nagoya was chosen as venue for the event since it has one of the largest Indonesian communities in Japan and is easily reached from Tokyo and Osaka via the Shinkansen bullettrain. Therefore, the event may well be a perfect 'cure' for Indonesians students and workers in Japan who are 'homesick' to again taste home cooked food, while at the same time the occasion serves as an excellent media to further promote the wonders of the Indonesian archipelago to the Japanese public. Meantime, the event will, moreover, promote the Asian Games 2018 that will take place in Jakarta and Palembang in August 2018.
