Just as in the Asian Games 2018, INAPG 2018 will also introduce a unique Indonesian animal as its mascot. As symbol of Motivation and Mobility: the Brahminy Kite or locally known as ‘Elang Bondol’ that was chosen as mascot, and aptly named Momo (from Motivation and Mobility).
Fittingly, Elang Bondol also happens to be the mascot of the capital city Jakarta, host of this year’s Asian Para Games.

The Asian Para Games is organized by the Asian Paralympic Committee which oversees the Paralympic games in the Asia region. The word “Paralympic” itself is derived from the Greek preposition “para” (beside or alongside) and the word “Olympic”.
Denoting that Paralympics stands parallel to the Olympics thus illustrating how the two movements exist side-by-side.
Based on this concept, the Paralympic Games is a major international multi-sports event that involves athletes who have a range of disabilities, including impaired muscle power (e.g. paraplegia and quadriplegia, muscular dystrophy, post-polio syndrome, spina bifida), impaired passive range of movement, limb deficiency (e.g. amputation or dysmelia), leg length difference, short stature, hypertonia, ataxia, athetosis, vision impairment and intellectual impairment.
