Tenganan Pegringsingan Culture Festival

The Tenganan Pegringsingan Culture Festival celebrates the rich heritage of Tenganan Pegringsingan, one of the oldest Bali Aga villages in Karangasem, known for preserving pre-Majapahit traditions. The festival highlights iconic cultural practices such as the Perang Pandan (Mekare-kare) ritual, an offering to honor ancestors and Lord Indra, while also showcasing Karangasem’s cultural, tourism, and creative economy potential.

Visitors can join the Geringsing Weaving Workshop, experiencing traditional weaving and natural dyeing techniques, and enjoy a Storytelling & Heritage Tour that explores the village’s history, the philosophy behind Perang Pandan, and the making of the sacred Geringsing cloth.
