Geopark Night Specta 8.0

Geopark Night Specta Vol. 8.0 is an annual festival that celebrates the geological richness of the Gunung Sewu UNESCO Global Geopark in the Gunungkidul geoarea. As part of the road to UNESCO revalidation in 2027, the event features a gamelan orchestra concert, reog, rampak kendang, as well as modern and traditional art performances. The festival also includes exhibitions of geopark products and local MSMEs. Pre-events include a geosite photo competition and a national seminar on sustainable geotourism. Held at the Nglanggeran Geosite; an Ancient Volcano and award-winning community-based tourist village recognized by UNWTO; GNS 8.0 offers a unique nature-and-culture tourism experience with an international standard.
