AirAsia Indonesia to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Yogya, Lombok and Pekanbaru

 

Starting Thursday, 26 January 2017, AirAsia Indonesia (code QZ) will commence operating 7 flights weekly from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to popular destinations Yogyakarta and Lombok , and adding flights to Pekanbaru , capital of the province of Riau on Sumatra, using A320 aircrafts, informs AirAsia Indonesia in its latest press release.

At present, AirAsia Malaysia (code AK) already flies the same routes 14 times weekly to both Yogyakarta and Lombok, while it flies 10 times weekly between Kuala Lumpur-Pekanbaru.

Both AirAsia companies combined will, therefore, serve the Kuala Lumpur-Lombok and Kuala Lumpur-Yogyakarta with 21 times weekly flights and 17 times weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur-Pekanbaru.

With the above combined frequencies AirAsia targets an additional load factor of 30%, thereby significantly increasing the number of tourists between the two ASEAN countries.

Promotional Fares

In conjunction with the launch of the new flights, AirAsia Indonesia offers special promotional fares on its flights valid between 26 January 2017 to 25 March 2017, with booking period limited to between 9 – 15 January 2017. Promotional tickets for Kuala Lumpur-Yogyakarta cost Rp. 529,000 one way; for Kuala Lumpur – Lombok Rp. 699,000 , and Kuala Lumpur-Pekanbaru Rp. 469,000.

Yogyakarta has long been a favorite tourist destination, first as entry point to the world renowned Borobudur temple, and as a tourist destination in its own right immersed in culture and tradition, best known for the Sultan's Palace and Malioboro Street.

Pekanbaru, on the other hand has so far been better known as a business city, but is now attracting more and more tourists to explore its wonderful hiterland.
