“On top of promoting main destinations in Indonesia, MATTA Fair 2017 is expected to generate transactions on the many tour packages available, in efforts to attract a more significant number of tourists from Malaysia to Indonesia,” said Assistant Deputy for South East Asia Market Development of the Ministry of Tourism, Rizky Handayani. Rizky Handayani further commented that MATTA Fair 2017 is a potential platform to continue the Ministry's program which focuses on branding, advertising, and selling. Since the event is a business to customers (B2C) fair, this is the opportunity for Indonesia's tourism businesses to expand their network and at the same time offer packages through local partners in Malaysia.

In 2017, the Ministry of Tourism has targeted to welcome 1,772,000 visitorsfrom Malaysia to Indonesia. Last year, the total of number of tourists from Malaysia stood at 1,225,458. MATTA Fair is the perfect stage to attract more tourists from Malaysia to Indonesia.
