The Main Lobby and Plenary Hall of the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta will become a massive arena dedicated to ‘Art’ and its many forms as the ARTE 2013: Indonesia Art Festival gets underway from 29th to 31st March 2013. Scheduled to be officially opened by the Minister for Tourism and Creative Economy, Mari Elka Pangestu, the festival will feature no less than 33 young talented artists from Jakarta, Bandung, and Yogyakarta.
The three days-arts fiesta will feature various form of arts including: Visual Art, Performing Art, Culinary Art, Film Festival, Music Performances, and an Art Market. Held for the first time ever, ARTE 2013 provides a media for emerging artists from all over the country to showcase their works.
Music performances will be highlighted with some of Indonesia’s renowned “off the beaten track” bands such as Pure Saturday, White Shoes & The Couples Company, Payung Teduh, Float, The Trees & The Wild, Sigmun, Dried Cassava, Jirapah, Zeke Khaseli & The Wrong Planeteers, and Cleo. There will also be Dance performance from Fabas Art.
The Film Festival will feature 7 special movies from Indonesia and abroad which have taken part in some of the world’s renowned film festivals namely: the Cannes Film Festival, Busan Film Festival, and Venice Film Festival. Film enthusiasts will be indulged with some of the most artistic movies such as “Laura&Marsha”, “Tango Libre”, “Pieta”, and "What They Don’t Talk about When They Talk about Love".
As special treat, the culinary art will showcase the cooking art skills of Chef Adrian Ishak, and the duo Chef Ivan and Chef Nand. In the Art Market, various art works will be presented in a bazaar to support artists to market their creative works.
