Indonesia Fashion Week 2012: Perayaan Kekayaan dan Kreativitas Fashion Indonesia

Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) kembali pada 23 hingga 26 Februari 2012, bertempat di Jakarta Convetion Center, Jakarta, tepatnya di tiga tempat berbeda, yaitu: Plenary Hall, Assembly Hall, dan Lobby Utama. Indonesia Fashion Week 2012 dijanjikan memberikan wawasan dalam industri fashion Nusantara melalui pameran, kompetisi, workshop, dan seminar yang menampilkan ikon fashion dunia.
Pameran IFW 2012 disajikan dalam suasana modern dengan deretan booth futuristik sebagai simbolis dari produk fashion Indonesia yang dapat memenuhi selera modern berstandar internasional namun tetap otentik tradisional. Pameran ini merupakan perayaan mode Indonesia yang beragam dan dinamis dimana menyajikan kekayaan dan kreativitas fashion di Indonesia. Dengan menampilkan fashion Indonesia sebagai tema utama, hal ini diproyeksikan menempatkannya untuk memiliki tren sendiri tanpa mengikuti tren dari pusat-pusat mode lainnya.
Lebih dari 40 fashion show akan digelar selama empat hari berturut-turut menampilkan desainer terkenal, desainer independen, dan juga desainer pemula. Ali Kharisma, Ardistia Dwiasri, Carmanita, Irna Mutiara, Ida Royani, Ghea Sukasah, Defrico Audy, Musa, Fery Sunarto, dan Anne Avantie, adalah beberapa nama yang akan menghiasi daftar desainer papan atas Indonesia dalam fashion show ini.
IFW 2012 akan dibagi menjadi tiga zona. Zona Cendrawasih akan menghadirkan antara lain: gaun malam, gaun cocktail, gaun pernikahan tradisional dan internasional, pakaian Muslim, manufaktur tekstil, dan mode pakaian siap pakai. Lobi Utama akan menjadi tempat untuk fashion etnik kontemporer, fashion display, instalasi tren mode, dan berbagai kompetisi. Asembly Hall menyajikan dengan distro kontemporer, fashion avant garde, aksesoris (sepatu, tas, perhiasan, dan lainnya), pakaian siap pakai, pakaian anak-anak, dan pakaian pria. Batik yang merupakan kreativitas dari budaya Indonesia dan mulai mendunia akan bergabung dengan produk asli Indonesia lainnya seperti tenun, lurik, jumputan, tenun ikat, sasirangan, kebaya encim, kain berbahan rotan, dan masih banyak lagi lainya.
Selain menjadi arena yang menampilkan tren fashion terbaru, IFW 2012 juga akan menekankan kegiatan kontak bisnis diantara sesama pemangku fashion dan desain. Akan ada pula sejumlah seminar tentang industri kecil dan industri fashion. Di antaranya adalah seminar produk yang akan menampilkan pembicara dari Norwegia dan Asosiasi Bisnis Indonesia (APINDO), seminar tentang tren fashion yang menampilkan pembicara dari Perancis. Selain itu, juga hadir kompetisi merancang busana siap pakai dengan hadiah utama kesempatan untuk bersaing di Hong Kong Fashion Week.
Indonesia Fashion Week 2012 diselenggarakan oleh Asosiasi Pengusaha dan Perancang Mode Indonesia (APPMI) dan tahun ini IFW 2012 bertujuan untuk mewujudkan visi Indonesia menjadi Pusat Mode Asia tahun 2015 dan salah satu pusat mode top dunia tahun 2025.
