Indihome Prambanan Jazz International Music Festival 2016

31 Jul 2016

After the success of its inaugural edition last year, the Prambanan Jazz International Music Festival, or better known as Prambanan Jazz, will again fuse the vibrant melodies of Jazz with the grandeur of one of Indonesia's heritage masterpieces on 20th to 21st August 2016 at the beautiful  Prambanan Temple Complex, Yogyakarta.

If Keny G’s soothing saxophone melodies successfully captivated last year's audience, the main highlight of this year’s festival is the performance of the legendary USA vocal group Boyz II Men and  Australian prominent pop singer Rick Price. Best known for their outstanding vocal harmonies, Boyz II Men topped the world’s music charts in the 90’s with hit singles such as ”End of the road”, “I’ll make love to you”, “On bended knees”, and more. Meanwhile with sweet ballad hits singles such as “Heaven Knows” and “If you were my Baby”, Rick Price is definitely well-known for his  memorable romantic tunes.

Prambanan jazz will also feature a number of top Indonesian musicians among whom are Glenn Fredly, Krakatau Reunion, Kahitna, Trio Lestari, Tulus, Yura Yunita, Raisa, Mocca, Rio Febrian, Marcell, and more.

The 2 days’ festival will be centered on two stages: the Brahma Stage for Special Shows and  the Wisnu Stage for festival shows. Aside from captivating music performances, the audience will also be presented with  an expo and bazaar where they can buy some of Yogyakarta’s finest products and enjoy  the best culinary treats of the area.

Situated some 17km from the heart of Yogyakarta, the Prambanan temple complex is a prime example of Java’s extended period of Hindu culture. The grandeur, complexity, and integrated architectural concept of Prambanan makes this a truly amazing structural complex. For its historic significance,  unique cultural and architectural marvel,  in 1991 Prambanan was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.
