More airlines are now serving direct flights between Indonesia’s many destinations.
Garuda Indonesia announced that the airline now offers daily flights to Bandung in West Java from Bali, departing Bali at 11.0 am. The airline uses B 737 aircrafts, wih 150 seats in economy and 12 in Executive Class. This will allow tourists visiting Bali to fly directly to Bandung, and those visiting Bandung to fly directly to Bali. Bandung has lately emerged as an appealing destination especially for tourists from Malaysia and Singapore.
Meanwhile Batik Air, Indonesia’s second full service airline in the Lion Air group , has also started operating the Jakarta-Yogyakarta route, offering two flights daily, leaving Jakarta at 5.40 am and 4.40 pm.
Starting 17 May, Batik Air has also commenced its twice daily Jakarta-Bali flights using B737-900 aircrafts, leaving Jakarta at 5.30 am and 6.30 pm. These flights are in addition to its flights from Jakarta to Manado, Balikpapan, Ambon and Pekanbaru.
Since 16 May, the new Mandala Airlines has also launched its Jakarta-Yogyakarta flights using A320 aircrafts. President Director of Mandala, Paul Rombeek said that the airline is very enthusiastic about the new route, as this forms an important step in the expansion of its network, informed Bisnis Indonesia.
