Jakarta Malls celebrate Chinese New Year with special “Peranakan” Shows

With the arrival of Chinese New Year, which this year falls on 10 February, shopping malls all over Jakarta celebrate this auspicious occasion with special festivities to welcome the Year of the Snake with cultural displays, special discounts, midnight sales, a display of Chinese New Year knick-knacks, an array of decorations, cookies and of course special dinners.


Among Jakarta’s extravagantly grand malls, here are a number of options to celebrate your Chinese New Year:

A number of Jakarta Malls are taking this opportunity to showcase Peranakan Culture, which is a blend of Chinese tradition with local Indonesian cultures.
