Garuda Indonesia named “ Best International Airline”

Indonesia’s national airline, Garuda Indonesia was  awarded “ Best International Airline” by independent international research institute, Roy Morgan, based in Australia, announced  vice director for Communication of Garuda Indonesia, Pujobroto, in Jakarta on Wednesday 7 March 2012.

“The decision to name Garuda as Best International Airline was based on a survey conducted by Roy Morgan from February 2011 to January 2012 on 3,943 respondents who were asked to evaluate and grade products and services of international airlines” said Pujobroto as quoted in Among all 3,943 respondents who used international airlines, 91% stated that they were very satisfied with the services of Garuda Indonesia.

Pujobroto added that the grade respondents gave towards Garuda Indonesia exceeded other international airlines. Garuda Indonesia managed to top and outrank Singapore Airlines, Air New Zealand, Emirates, and Cathay Pacific.

Along with the transformation and “Quantum Leap” continuous ongoing program, Garuda Indonesia has also received other achievements prior to this.  Skytrax, an airline ranking institute based in London, has earlier named Garuda Indonesia as “The World Most Improved Airline”, while the Center of Asia Pacific Airlines (CAPA) has also awarded Garuda Indonesia as “Airline Turn Around of The Year”.

CEO of Garuda Indonesia, Emirsyah Satar, explained that Garuda Indonesia Airlines will have a fleet of 154 aircrafts by the year 2015. “Through the Quantum Leap program, up until the year 2015, Garuda Indonesia plans to expand her fleet from currently 89 to 154 aircrafts” said Emirsyah Satar when he welcomed the arrival of two latest additions to Garuda Indonesia  of  a Boeing 737-800NG and an  Airbus A330-200 planes at  the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Jakarta, on Friday 24 February 2012.
