Showcasing the tourism wonders of East Java and Indonesia in general, the 15th edition of Majapahit Travel Fair 2014 will be held from 8th to 11th May 2014 at the Grand City Convex in the capital city of East Java Province, Surabaya. This year, the event carries the theme “Sport and Recreation”.
Held annually since 1999, the Majapahit Travel Fair (MTF) is hailed as the biggest travel and tourism fair in the eastern part of Indonesia. The international cultural and tourism event combines the programs of Travel exchange (Travex), culture and tourism exhibition, and varous art performances. As a special addition for this year, the event will also be highlighted with the presence of many sport and recreation communities.
The Travel Exchange is a closed business meeting with a Table-Top format between Buyers and Sellers of the travel and tourism industry. The two-session program will be based on scheduled appointments arranged by the MTF Organizing Committee which will bring together sellers from the East java tourism industry with national and international buyers who are currently marketing East Java and Indonesia and also those who are seeking more information regarding the tourism business in the region. It is the perfect opportunity to initiate tourism related business deals and also to create regional and worldwide networking.
The tourism exhibition will feature a range of tourism industries including travel operators and destinations representatives from East Java and other part of the Indonesian Archipelago who will showcase some of the best tourism products and services in the country. The exhibition will be open to the public at the exhibition hall of Grand City Convex Surabaya. The event will also be highlighted with a half-day Seminar featuring some of the most reputable tourism professionals from Indonesia who will share their experiences and expertise.
For buyers and international travel journalists/writers there will also be a Post Tour Program which include a Surabaya City Tour & Golf, Mount Bromo Day Tour, and a trip to the vacation city of Batu.
Majapahit Travel Fair is presented the Provincial Government of East Java through the Office of Culture and Tourism of East Java and organized by PT Debindo Mitra Tama and supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, the City Government of Surabaya, Casa Grande East Java, Indonesia Exhibition Companies Association (ASPERAPI), and the Eas Java’s Chamber of Trade and Industry (KADIN).
