Megadeth Concert Live in Jakarta 2014

30 Nov -0001 - 30 Nov -0001

After the spectacular performance of Metallica in Jakarta in August last year, another huge name in the realm of Rock and Metal Music is ready to storm Jakarta with even bolder sounds. Returning for the 3rd time in Indonesia to quench the thirst of metalheads for great and powerful music, Megadeth will stage a Live Concert at the Tennis Indoor Stadium of Gelora Bung Karno Sport Complex, in Jakarta on August 2014.

The concert forms part of the World Tour following the release of their 14th album “Super Collider” on 4th June 2013 and will start on 19th February 2014 in the Vector Arena Auckland, New Zealand. The Band will tour Australia from 22nd February to 3rd March before performing in Jakarta, and continue to central and south America in May, and Europe from June to August.

Considered as one of the most legendary metal bands of all time, Megadeth emerged in 1985 at the forefront of the thrash/speed metal scene with their seminal debut “Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good”, and continued on a blistering path of albums and tours throughout the decade. The nickname “world’s state-of-the-art speed metal band” and the critic-coined “intellectual thrash metal” were often used to describe the band’s sound.

With a string of five consecutive platinum and multi-platinum albums Megadeth became one of the biggest bands of the mid-‘80s and ‘90s, boasting such arena anthems as “Peace Sells… But Who’s Buying”, “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due”, “Symphony Of Destruction” and “Sweating Bullets”, along with the top singles in 1997/98 off “Cryptic Writings”, “Trust”  (No. 1 radio track), “Almost Honest”, “Use The Man” and “A Secret Place”. In all, the band has scored five Top 10 albums and two Top 5 releases.  The 90’s saw a change in Megadeth’s sound with the polished and commercial multi-platinum release “Countdown to Extinction”, which skyrocketed them into multi-platinum success and MTV stardom. The incorporation of this new sound would be a trademark of every release to come, and would eventually earn them 11 Grammy nominations for Best Metal Performance, 7 platinum certifications, and selling more than 38 million albums worldwide.

Megadeth’s latest studio album, “Super Collider” debuted at number 6 on The Billboard 200 and become the band’s highest chart debut since 1994’s “Youthanasia”.

With Guitarist/vocalist Dave Mustaine as foreman and true central power of the band, Megadeth saw quite plenty of formation changes through the years. The stages in Indonesia also became the witness of these formation changes as Megadeth performed with different members each time. When the band first appeared in Indonesia in Medan on 2001, Mustaine was accompanied by Bassist David Ellefson, Guitarist Al Pitreli, and Drummer Jimmy DeGrasso. In their second performance in 2007, promoting the album “United Abominations” Megadeth consisted of Guitarist/Vocalist Dave Mustaine, bassist James LoMenzo, Guitarist Glen Dover, and Drummer Shawn Drover. For their upcoming performance in Jakarta, bassist and co founder of the band David Ellefson teamed up again with Mustaine, while Shawn Drover remains on Drum.

The concert is presented by Original Production who also brought the band in 2001 and 2007. Tickets are on sale now ranging from IDR 550,000 (tribune), IDR 650,000 (Festival), and IDR 850,000 (VIP).
