One of the most respected jazz festivals in the world, the Jakarta International Jazz Festival 2012, otherwise better known as JakJazz, will once again be held in Jakarta. In its upcoming 13th production, this international-scaled jazz event in Indonesia will take place at Senayan, Jakarta from January 19 to October 21, 2012.

By taking the theme of “Jazz the Way You Are”, JakJazz 2012 is expected to attract 60,000 jazz lovers from Jakarta and other cities or even from other parts of the globe.  Projecting the main event to be held in October, the pre-event called Road to JakJazz Festival was held for 2 days at Gandaria City, Jakarta, last April 2012. Sharkindo Komunika as the organizers this year made the pre-event big by involving many top jazz stars from potential rising talents, today’s popular jazz musicians, maestros, to legends.

This year, the JakJazz 2012 will invite international jazz musicians, including: Incognito, Mezzoforte, Jeff Lorber Fusion Feat. Eric Marienthal, Sonny Emory & Nate Phillips, Jeremy Monteiro, Curtis King Blues Band, Benko Dixieland Band, Dixieland crackerjacks, Boris Savoldelly One-Man Acapella, Rtm Jazz Orchestra, Ernesto Holman, and many more.

The three-day-event of the international jazz festival will also feature local musicians, namely: Ireng Maulana&Friends, Idang Rasjidi Syndicate, Indra, Gilang Ramadhan, cultivation, Indro Hardjodikoro, Dewa Budjana, Dwiki Dharmawan, Tompi, Glenn Lewis, Margie Segers, Chaseiro, Maliq & D'essentials, Barry Likumahuwa Project, Eramono & New Spirit Band, Yance Manusama & Funky Thumb, Syaharani & The Queen Fireworks, Lala Suwages, Sierra Soetedjo, Rio Moreno Latin Combo, and many more.

JakJazz was launched for the first time in 1988 based on the ideas and efforts of legendary guitarist Ireng Maulana. As pioneer of the international-scaled jazz festival in Indonesia, JakJazz has featured thousands of stars both international and local, and brought the finest jazz presentations for jazz lovers ever since. Be there and be part of this huge international Jazz event!
