Jakarta 10K Run

To commemorate the capital Jakarta’s  485th anniversary,  the Jakarta International 10K Run will once again be staged for the 9th time on 20 May 2012, starting at 6.30 Western Indonesia Time. Over 35.000 participants are expected to join the race that offers a total prize of IDR600 million.

The race will take a 10 Kilometers route starting on the South West Crossing of the National Monument, then continues to MH.Thamrin Street, the Hotel Indonesia Roundabout, Sudirman Street, turning on Semanggi Bridge, until it reaches the finish line back at the National Monument.

The race itself is divided into four categories: The  International Athletes Category, The national Athletes Category, The Students Category, and Public Category.

The Jakarta International 10K Run has its beginning in 2004, initiated by the Office of Youth and Sports of Jakarta (DISORDA) and fully supported by the Governor of Jakarta. Jakarta 10K is aimed to show the world that Jakarta in particular, and Indonesia as a whole is a safe and conducive destination to stage an international event that can be participated by international communities. The event has also received international recognition since the 10 Kilometers race route has been certified by the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), and is currently considered as the biggest international street 10K marathon held in Indonesia.

Over the years, the event has also attracted national and international athletes to take part since it is also listed in the agenda of international athletics. This year DISORDA has invited over 50 national and international athletes. The appearance of these professional athletes, along with thousands of other participants will boost the Jakarta International 10K Run into an exciting world class event.

Registration has been opened since 27 April and will be closed
