BaliSpirit Festival 2017: Let’s Make the World a Better Place

 

The tranquil town of Ubud in the cultural heartland of Bali will once again be filled with universal spirituality as the BaliSpirit Festival 2017 gets underway. Held from 19th to 26th March 2017, the event is centered at the Bhanuswari Resort and Spa. As the festival celebrates its ten years anniversary this year, news of this gathering that will be filled with world-renowned musicians, yogis and dancers from every continent, has spread across the globe.

Through the traditions of yoga, dance, healing and world music, the BaliSpirit Festival attracts over 7000 people from all over the world every year. The 5-day, 7-night Festival offers you a wide range of events to choose from between 8am – 11pm each day for a full week. As always, this one of a kind festival will be highlighted with interactive workshops & seminars, a lively community market & healing center, a children’s activity zone, yoga classes and vibrant night time programs of live Bhakti and world music concerts, all these set among the picturesque rice-fields of Ubud.

Set in the spectacular grounds of Bhanuswari Resort & SPA, just 15 minutes southeast of Ubud, the Daytime Workshops and Dharma Fair enjoy an open-air venue unmatched for its inspiring, tropical beauty. There is an exciting variety of daytime activities including: Traditional Balinese performances, Bhakti Music and Kirtan, Satsangs with inspirational leaders such as our honorable guests Jeffrey Armstrong and Sri Prem Baba.

There will also be seminars and workshops in various styles such as: African Dance, Ecstatic Dance, Sound Healing, Ayurveda, Vedic Astrology, Health/Nutrition, the Business of Yoga, Self Help, Acro Yoga, Bikram, Yin, Kundalini, Hatha, Tantra, Mantra, Prana flow, Vinyasa, Capoira, Astanga, various forms of Breathwork and meditation & so much more. Workshops are offered in a variety of levels, the majority of which are multilevel and great for beginners, experienced yogis and anyone in between.

The “One World One Stage” evening concert takes place in the heart of Ubud, at the Agung Rai Museum of Art (ARMA) outdoor stage, allowing easy access for both visitors and Ubud residents. This unique series of concerts knits together the distinctive traditional and contemporary music of Bali and greater Indonesia with visiting artists from every world genre around the globe. Among names decorating this year’s lineup are Xavier Rudd, Brooklyn Gypsies, Colleena Shakti, Elijah Ray, Haji Basim, The Hanumen, and many more.

Embodying the core mantra of Balinese Hinduism - Tri Hita Karana - to live in harmony with our spiritual, social, and natural environments, -The BaliSpirit Festival has become a magnet for fans, students and followers of every yoga, movement, healing and music calling. Weeks before the Festival, Ubud will begin to fill with a colorful, international tribe of conscious travelers, gathering in anticipation of one of the world’s most inspiring events.

Over the past 9 years, the BaliSpirit Festival has worked alongside partner organizations in Bali, as well as international yoga teachers and musicians, to raise more than USD $65,000 for the Festival’s annual Karma (Giving Back) outreach initiatives. Funds have contributed to children’s programs, multicultural education & performances, health clinics, HIV & AIDS awareness, & environmental protection. The BaliSpirit Festival currently operates two outreach programs annually: the HIV & AIDS education program Ayo! Kita Bicara HIV & AIDS and the reforestation initiative, Bali ReGreen.
